Introducao

Valdivia, localizada na confluência dos rios Calle-Calle, Valdivia e Cruces, é uma das cidades mais encantadoras do Chile. One of the most architecturally stunning hot spring complexes in the world. Seventeen slate-lined pools connected by geometric red wooden walkways wind through a narrow ravine of temperate rainforest. Designed by Germán del Sol, the complex is a masterpiece of architecture harmonizing with nature. Steam rises from the pools while the Tabón River runs below.

Coñaripe is a small village that has become a hub for thermal tourism, with several hot spring facilities in the area. The main thermal complex offers well-maintained pools in a forested setting with views of Villarrica Volcano. The village makes an excellent base for exploring multiple springs in the area.

Natural

The Liquiñe valley is one of Chile's most concentrated thermal areas, with over 30 hot spring sources in a narrow volcanic valley. Several small facilities offer access to pools fed by different mineral springs. The valley's Mapuche communities have used these waters for centuries and manage several of the bathing sites.

Overnight cabañas allow for a multi-day thermal retreat.

The thermal corridor from Valdivia to Coñaripe is enjoyable year-round. Summer (December to March) offers warm weather and the best driving conditions. Winter (June to August) transforms Termas Geométricas into a steamy wonderland surrounded by snow-covered forest. Spring and autumn offer mild temperatures and fewer crowds.

Valdivia is served by Pichoy Airport (ZAL) with daily flights from Santiago. The city is 840 km south of Santiago on Ruta 5 (about 10 hours by bus or car). From Valdivia, the hot springs are a 2-3 hour drive east into the Andes foothills. A rental car is essential for reaching the springs. The route passes through the lakeside towns of Panguipulli and Coñaripe.
