Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. About PatagoniaHub
PatagoniaHub.travel ("PatagoniaHub", "we", "us") is an online marketplace operated from Chile that connects travelers with local car rental operators in Patagonia. We act as an intermediary platform facilitating bookings between travelers ("you", "user") and independent vehicle owners/operators ("operators").
By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Booking Process
When you book a vehicle through PatagoniaHub:
- You provide your personal information and select your rental dates.
- Your payment card is authorized (not charged) for the rental total shown before you pay: the car, extras and route charges.
- You sign the rental contract online.
- PatagoniaHub confirms the car with the rental company, normally within 24 hours.
- If confirmed, the authorized amount is captured (charged). If the car is not available, the authorization is released.
- The refundable damage hold (security deposit) is not part of the online payment: the rental company takes it on your card at pickup.
3. Payment & Authorization
We use Stripe for secure payment processing. When you submit a booking:
- An authorization hold is placed on your card for the rental total (the car, extras and route charges).
- No charge is made until PatagoniaHub confirms your booking.
- If the booking is declined or cancelled in accordance with our Cancellation Policy, the hold is released.
- The damage hold (security deposit) is taken by the rental company at pickup, not online, and released after the vehicle is returned in the condition it left, subject to processing times that vary by bank.
4. User Responsibilities
As a user of PatagoniaHub, you agree to:
- Provide accurate personal information, including a valid driver's license and identification.
- Meet the minimum age requirement set by the operator (typically 21-25 years).
- Return the vehicle in the same condition as received, on the agreed date and time.
- Comply with all local traffic laws and regulations in Chile/Argentina.
- Not use the vehicle for illegal activities, racing, or off-road driving unless explicitly permitted.
- Report any accidents or damage to the operator immediately.
5. Platform Role & Liability
PatagoniaHub acts as a marketplace connecting travelers with operators. We do not own, maintain, or insure any vehicles listed on our platform.
- Vehicle condition, insurance, and roadside assistance are the responsibility of the operator.
- We are not liable for accidents, breakdowns, or disputes between users and operators.
- We facilitate communication and payment processing but are not a party to the rental agreement between you and the operator.
- We make reasonable efforts to verify operators but cannot guarantee the quality of service.
6. Account & Data
You may create an account to manage bookings. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. We handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Messages you send our staff through the app are read by them; we may remove abusive content and block an account that sends it. You can report a problem with a conversation from your reservation pass.
7. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile. Any disputes arising from the use of PatagoniaHub shall be resolved in the courts of Puerto Natales, Magallanes Region, Chile.
