Automne in Valdivia

Valdivia, often called Chile's most beautiful city, sits at the confluence of the Calle-Calle, Valdivia, and Cruces rivers in the Los Ríos Region. Founded in 1552 by Pedro de Valdivia, it blends Spanish colonial history, German immigrant heritage, and a vibrant university-town culture into something uniquely appealing.

Autumn, from mars through mai, is an enchanting time to visit. The city's abundant tree-lined streets and riverside promenades turn golden and amber, with European species planted by German settlers mixing with native southern beeches to create a rich fall palette. The rivers, which define Valdivia's geography and character, reflect these colors alongside the historic buildings and bustling waterfront.

Valdivia is Chile's craft beer capital, home to Kunstmann and numerous artisan breweries that trace their origins to the German settlers who arrived in the mid-1800s.
